Event: Susanne Jie & Robert's Holy Matrimony
it was a beautiful (and obviously expensive) wedding reception
set at the Sheraton Hotel waterfall area
settings was laid out in a simple, classy, yet cosy way
a path was set for Susanne jie to walk through with Uncle Terence
from the hotel, pass the guest, over the small bridge, to the hut
the weather seems to be in a very good mood
its around 4PM in the afternoon which normally is scorching hot
well...maybe for this time of the year, 4PM would normally be rainning
but that day was neither scorching nor rainning
it was slightly cloudy and cool breezy
under the hut, all of her and Robert's closest people gathered around
giving Susanne jie and Robert our sincerest blessing
as they sign the paper, exchanged wedding rings and kissed
all of us were clapping, lots were in tears of joy
Susanne jie sobbed uncontrollably with her loving grandma
...
a lot of time when they say that the atmosphere was loving
i always thought they meant that the environment are romantic only
but i was very wrong
everyone's attention was on Susanne jie and Robert
clapping, smiling, blessing them truthfully
a sense of loving nostalgia well up inside me
"i am hardly going to see Susanne jie again..."
she is moving away and hardly ever coming back
memories of how we grew up together flashes through
how i used to go over to her house and play with her
sitting with her in Ah Yi & Uncle's room watching TV
i "fashion up" her hair while she is on the phone
using study as an excuse to go her house for her companionship
getting her to tuition me some subjects in primary school
also remembering all the snacks and goodies she gave me
bothering her all the times with my childish nonsense
and many many more memories which can never be replaced
i dare say she is the best cousin i have
i am going to miss her a lot a lot...
looking at the smile on her face that day
=) i am never ever going to forget that smile
