friends having problems...

many of my friends came to me for a listening ear
coming to me when they can't breath
as though like i am the air around
i listen and listen and listen
i am happy
they confide in me
they trust me
but
i am sad
i put myself in their shoes
thinking about what they have been through
trying to feel wad are they feeling
i can't do anything for them
i can't say anything to them
i can't tell the broken hearted to give up
i can't tell the worried souls to move on
i can't tell the tired mind to stop trying
i can't tell the disturbed waves to calm down
